My Story

Thank you for taking the time to let me tell you a little about myself.  I never dreamed I would find myself teaching and raising a family so different than where I grew up.  But here I am and loving every student who has ever entered my classroom and the memories I cherish of raising our family in the desert.

I grew up with my mom and 3 sisters in the country of southwestern Pennsylvania. My mother passed away shortly after this photo was taken but she was a model of strength, independence, and love of the Lord.

After graduation, I enlisted in the Army National Guard and worked as a nurses' aid back home.  I had so much fun in boot camp that I decided to do it again with the United States Marine Corps.  I served as a Military Police Officer for 4 years and graduated from Prince George's County Police Academy.  After an honorable discharge, I married my husband, a career Marine, and eventually made our home here in Twentynine Palms.

The next thing we knew we had 4 great kids who helped me fall in love with the Mojave Desert.  We lived a modest but fun and memorable life in our little cabin for 9 years while my husband built the home of our dreams. We stay active in our church and local community.

Years passed and the family grew and continues to grow.  After more than 32 years, my husband is still the love of my life.  We see our blessings through the eyes of our children, their spouses, and the grand-babies. We are super excited to be welcoming twins to the family this year.
